Entrepreneurs, starting something new is hard, and it takes a bit of bravery, a ton of self-confidence, and a whole lot of faith!
But understanding the why is going to be your drive!
It is what will keep you up at night!
It is what will keep you moving when everyone else says you can't!
It is what you will hold on to when you are not sure this is a good idea!
Why I Started Speaking Up with Wendy Baird Packard:
For decades, I have observed, noticed, and analyzed how people communicate.
My faith is important to me, and I feel my God-given gifts (we all have them) are centered around the fundamentals and study of communication.
But also, I communicated differently. When I began facilitating classes, I learned that my gift is explaining topics in a way that resonates with my audience.
I would read my audience differently from many of my fellow facilitators; the way the room was set up mattered, the temperature of the room mattered, and the lives of the participants in my classes mattered. It all mattered in how I communicated information to the group for maximum retention.
Throughout my career, I felt God showing me situations where better communication would have provided very different results.
I was always analyzing the guest speaker's actions instead of listening to the message. Great speakers, I just listened and learned what made them great, and what they were doing to be so engaging.
I also observed that people were/are struggling because they don't know how to communicate in various situations, leaving them frustrated, jobless, or promotion-less. Or, even worse, ineffectively leading people who, in turn, are unable to achieve great work or group success due to a lack of communication fundamentals.
After decades of professional experience, a degree in communication (Master's in Leadership in progress), countless certifications, and helping thousands of people navigate career transitions, I knew it was time to build something of my own.
That's how Speaking Up with Wendy Baird Packard was born (WPC Consulting LLC).
Today, through individual or group training classes, social media posts, podcasts, panel guest, and guest speaking, I help people:
